Institutions>National Bal Bhavan

During the summer months of May/June, master craftsmen are invited to the National Bal Bhavan, Delhi to display their crafts and train children in them. Workshops for children are conducted at the National Bal Bhavan to acquaint them with their rich cultural heritage; create awareness regarding various traditional arts and crafts; and to motivate them to preserve and conserve their heritage. It is hoped that children would become interested in some of the dying arts and crafts of the country and help revive and carry them on.

During these months, the Children's Creative Work Gallery buzzes with activity, with youngsters unleashing their creative energy. At the Bal Bhavan, conscious efforts are made to transfer endangered art forms to the next generation, so that these can be kept alive and pulsating. Some of the workshops organized here have been on Phulkari Embroidery, Sanjhi Painting, Worli Painting, Madhubani Painting, Miniature Painting, Tribal Art, Glass Painting, Kalamkari, Leather Paintings & Puppets, Bamboo Craft and so on.
