Tribal Research and Development Institute is an organization of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, India, located at Bhopal. The Institute is under the administrative control of the Tribal Welfare Department of the State Govt. It receives financial assistance from the Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs and is engaged in tribal research.
It has been set up with the objective of research on anthropological studies including social, economic and cultural issues and Traditional Knowledge Systems (TKS) of the tribals besides doing baseline and other surveys on communities, Evaluation and impact assessment studies, Documentation of the rich cultural heritage of the State's tribes and creating awareness regarding sensitivity to tribal issues.
The Institute has been declared a nodal TRI to coordinate with the TRIs of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Shri Badal Bhoi State Tribal Museum, Chhindwara
Named after a well-known tribal freedom fighter of the area, the late Badal Bhoi, the museum was set up as a State Tribal Museum in Chhindwara in 1954 with a view to promoting and protecting the diverse tribal ethos of Madhya Pradesh.

The museum is located at the headquarters of the Institute at Bhopal. Rare artifacts, sculptures and works of art are on display.
