Uravu
Uravu is a non profit trust established in 1986 at Thrikkaipetta in Wayanad district of Kerala, with the objective of empowering marginalized and economically weak social groups, especially women, traditional artisans and indigenous people. Its programmes fall in the bamboo sector where it provides skill training in bamboo processing, establishes micro enterprises, helps with the marketing of the products and also aids cultivation of bamboo. Uravu sees bamboo as a factor in ecological, food, shelter and livelihood security for the population mentioned earlier.
